St. Patrick’s Day: An Alternative to Cookies and Corned Beef for Kids
Jessica Fisher’s, “Best 100 Juices for Kids” has a juice recipe for any occasion. And, if you feel like all there is to give the kiddos on St. Patty’s Day is a cookie or some corned beef, I have something super green for you to try as an alternative! Trust me, the kids won’t even taste the greens in this. They’ll be tasting the sweetness of the apples and pears. And, they’ll be feeling extra Irish if you put this juice in a Shamrock mug or decorated sippy cup.
Here’s the recipe:
** Makes 15 to 20 ounces
2 medium pears
2 medium apples
2 leaves of Swiss chard
1. Core the pears and apples.
2. Juice the pears, apples, and chard according to the directions on your juicing machine. Whisk to combine.
3. Add water to taste if you or your child prefers a milder juice.
